Update August 2024: We have completed Phase 1 engagement and are reviewing input we have gathered from community members, community groups, advisory committees and municipal partners and more to help us understand specific needs, barriers and concerns that will help shape our Engagement Framework. A draft Framework will be developed over the coming months. This fall, we will share the draft Framework with the community for feedback before seeking Council adoption and implementing the Framework in early 2025. Watch for more updates and subscribe to get notifications to your inbox by entering your email in the Stay Informed box on this page.
Update April 2024: We are continuing to collect feedback from community groups, advisory committees and municipal partners to help us understand specific needs, barriers and concerns that will help shape our Engagement Framework. We’ll also be connecting with the community at a series of pop-up events this spring.

Moodyville Park (Earth Day event) April 20, 10am-2pm
The City of North Vancouver is committed to engaging with our community to ensure that decisions made reflect the voices and needs of those in the community. We are developing a Community Engagement Framework so people who live, work and play within our city have meaningful opportunities to impact the decisions that affect their lives.
What is engagement?
In this project, community engagement means involving the community or individuals in the decision making process when decisions impact them. It is also known as public participation or public consultation.
What is an engagement framework?
An engagement framework is a consistent, equitable approach to engagement that helps the City make informed decisions and develop trusting relationships with the community. Our Community Engagement Framework will be informed by input from those who live, work and play within the City of North Vancouver, along with informed practices from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) and other municipalities across Canada.
The process for developing our Community Engagement Framework will offer opportunities to provide input over the coming year.

Update, July 31, 2023: The survey is now closed, but that’s not all! We’ll be gathering more community input through the beginning of 2024 – watch for more opportunities to participate and provide your feedback on engaging with the City. Updates will be available on this page, or you can sign up for email updates by submitting your email address in the Stay Informed box on Let’s Talk. Thanks for participating!
We appreciate you taking this short survey to help us better understand community values, expectations, and interest when it comes to engagement. It will help us design engagement opportunities that meet the needs of the community by removing barriers and making it easier and comfortable to participate, while meeting the needs of decision-makers to support them in making informed decisions.
We know you have a lot of insight to share, and we’re listening. The following survey should take 20-25 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help us inform the development of the policy and framework. Please share with your friends and neighbours too!
BONUS: In addition to helping shape your community, you can also enter to win! Upon completing the survey, you can choose to enter our prize draw for a $100 gift card to a local City business of your choice. Draw will be held after the survey closes on July 31. Winner will be contacted by email. Questions? Please email engagement@cnv.org
