Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book a park shelter for activities?
Yes! Bookings and permits for parks, trails and plazas are managed by North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) on behalf of the City and District.
Complete the Parks Picnic & Wedding Application form to book recreation shelters. Shelters are booked in 4 hour time slots, but you can book more than one block at a time. Including the mandatory insurance, the current cost is $117.50. At this time, NVRC is booking picnic shelters for a maximum of 10 people, but this will likely change as health order restrictions modify.
Are you planning on installing more park shelters in the future?
Yes. As budget permits, we’ll provide more shelters in parks if community support for the shelters continues.
What will the shelters be like?
We’re planning on these shelters to be prefabricated metal, and simple in design for both ease of installation and maintenance. The footprint of the shelters will be 600 sq ft by 800 sq ft, and the height will range from 12' to 18'. At this time we are not planning on providing electricity or lights to the shelters.
