About the Project
On June 1, 2020, Mayor and Council passed a bylaw allowing alcohol consumption at specific public locations in the City of North Vancouver.
This is part of Council’s commitment to make life in the City during COVID-19 a little easier. Mayor Buchanan and members of Council are dedicated to creating a vibrant, connected and prosperous City, and their decision makes ours the first municipality in the province to allow the consumption of alcohol in designated outdoor spaces.
This is a pilot project running from June 22, 2020 through October 15, 2020. It allows alcohol consumption from 11:00am - 9:00pm, seven days a week at the following locations:

- Waterfront Park (north and south of the train tracks, excluding the playground)
- Victoria Park (west)
- Civic Plaza
- Mahon Park (behind Fen Burdett bleachers)
- Grand Boulevard (13th St. to 19th St.) / Ray Perrault Park (north west corner)
- Kings Mill Walk Park (Harbourside Pl. to Fell Ave.)
- Shipbuilders Square
- Cates Deck
- Lower Lonsdale Parklet
Note the bylaw only applies to the locations above, designated by City of North Vancouver.
