Complete Communities Assessment
We're undertaking a Complete Communities Assessment to better meet the everyday needs of residents and find ways the City can improve and address gaps in our community’s amenities and services.
The project involves community engagement and expert technical analysis to better understand the City’s strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for building a more complete community. This study will explore land use, housing, amenities, and transportation patterns. The City will use the information from this study to help shape future updates to our Official Community Plan – one of the City’s most important guiding policy documents.
This work is funded through the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Complete Communities Program. The project builds on the City’s Community Wellbeing Strategy – Complete Communities Strategic Pathway.
How to Get Involved
You’re invited to share your feedback and help inform our Complete Communities Assessment during our public engagement period. What amenities/services do you access daily, weekly, monthly? Where are you experiencing gaps or barriers? Here's how you can get involved and help make our community more complete!
Between January 27 – February 17, 2025, you can:
- Complete the survey by Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
- Prefer a printed copy? Download, print and email the completed survey to planning@cnv.org or pick up at copy at City Hall and deposit it in our dropboxes outside (141 West 14th Street, North Vancouver BC V7M 1H9).
- Drop a pin on the map and show us what areas of the City are meeting your daily needs and what areas could be improved.
- Visit a pop-up event to chat with staff and provide input.
- See “Key Dates” on the right sidebar for pop-up locations and dates.
- Subscribe for updates to your inbox by submitting your email in the "Stay Informed" box in the column to the right.
How Your Input Will be Used
Your input will be used to help evaluate the City’s strengths, weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for building a more complete community. Community input along with geospatial analysis, research, and best practices will be used to inform a future Official Community Plan update to help build a more complete community.
Drop a Pin
Drop pins on the map showing what places in the City are meeting your daily needs. Tell us what you'd like to see more of, or what missing in your neighbourhood! Does your block need a corner store? Are you always wishing there was a café within walking distance of your home? Let us know!
Select the ‘New Pin” button and drag a pin to your intended location to provide your comments and photos. Please do not include any photos of people.
