Project History

Update March 1, 2024: Thank you to everyone who shared feedback throughout the project engagement period last summer. We have compiled a summary of all the community feedback received into a ‘What We Heard’ engagement summary report. This input will be considered in decisions about improvements at Eastview Park.

We understand this project is important to you and that you are looking forward to the next steps. We are now scheduled to present recommendations on this project to City Council at the regular Council meeting on Monday, March 4 at 6 p.m.

Update December 11, 2023: Throughout the public engagement, we heard about how valuable Eastview Park is to the community. We are taking the time to develop meaningful recommendations for Council that consider the diverse viewpoints heard in the engagement and incorporate park planning best practices.

To accommodate this work, we are now scheduled to present our recommendations to Council in early 2024.

We're taking steps to make Eastview Park welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Eastview Park is located on the eastern boundary of the City between Rufus Drive and Mountain Highway. This 2.8 hectare neighbourhood park is accessed for its wooded walking trails, open spaces and disc golf course.

We are looking to listen and learn from everyone who uses Eastview Park to better understand opportunities to improve the park.

We are launching a community engagement process to help us understand:

  • What is working well today in the park?
  • What could be improved?
  • What would you like to see for the future of the park?

Your input will help City staff develop recommendations for potential park improvements. It is anticipated that these recommendations will be presented to Council for consideration in late fall 2023. Now is your time to engage and share your thoughts on the future of this well-used and much-loved neighbourhood park.

Get Involved

  • The survey is available on this page between June 20 and July 11 at 4 p.m.

2. Pin places on the map

  • Show us what you like best about Eastview Park, as well as what could be improved. The map is available on this page between June 20 and July 11 at 4 p.m.

3. Attend one of our community workshops (registration required)

  • Thursday, June 22, 6-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 24, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Two workshops are being held to ensure as many people as possible can attend. Both workshops will be identical, so attendance at only one of the sessions is necessary.

To register, email eastviewpark@cnv.org with your contact details, the date you would like to attend, and your connection to Eastview Park: I am a neighbour, community member, and/or disc golf player.

Registration is limited to 30 people per workshop. Both sessions will be held at the Karen Magnussen Community Recreation Centre.

4. Chat with us in-person at our park pop-up
