Help shape the Draft Climate and Environment Strategy

We are facing an unprecedented climate and environmental crisis. To navigate these challenges, the City of North Vancouver has developed a draft Climate and Environment Strategy to be our guide for making decisions that foster a resilient urban and natural environment, today and over the coming decade.

What We Heard

In November of 2021, we asked for your feedback on the draft vision, goals and strategies that formed the framework for the plan. During this first phase of engagement, we received significant input through listening sessions with equity-deserving groups, stakeholder workshops and through online survey responses. Learn more in the What We Heard report.

We Want to Hear From You

We are seeking input on the draft Climate and Environment Strategy in a second phase of public engagement. Answer the survey, find us at pop-up locations throughout the community, contact staff with questions or feedback. Find out how you can get involved below.

  • Read our draft Climate & Environment Strategy: Download here or pick up a printed copy at City Hall or the North Vancouver City Library.
  • Looking for highlights? Read the Strategy Summary.
  • Subscribe for updates by submitting your email into the Stay Informed box in the top right sidebar.
  • Contact staff with questions at environment@cnv.org.
  • Be a climate leader! Spread the word to others you know who might be interested in helping to shape our City's Climate and Environment Strategy.

Next Steps

After the engagement process closes on October 13, the draft Climate & Environment Strategy will be adjusted and revised and presented to Council in late 2023. Pending Council direction and approval, the Strategy is anticipated to be complete and ready to implement in early 2024.

November 26, 2021 Update: Thank you for your interest in the Climate and Environment Strategy. We are currently drafting the plan and incorporating what we heard during our engagement in Fall 2021. There will be an opportunity for public input on the draft plan in summer 2023.

Let's build a resilient and low carbon community where people and nature thrive.

The City is facing an unprecedented climate and environmental crisis. To navigate these challenges, we are developing a Climate and Environment Strategy (CES) to help a resilient and low carbon community where all people and nature thrive.

    What’s the Process?

We’ve developed an initial framework for our CES to become a healthy, green and low carbon City. We need your feedback on the draft vision and goals and emerging strategies that will form the basis of the plan. Input will be used to help refine this framework and ensure it reflects the values and priorities of our community.

Learn more about our process and the draft framework for the strategy on the City of North Vancouver website at cnv.org/EnvironmentStrategy.
