Appalled by this plan
I live in the Cloverley neighborhood. I have a business license to provide Speech Therapy and have done so for 8 years. With the measures currently in place, my clients have been confused and usually late the first time they try to get to my office, because of all the one way streets. With the new plan, my clients will be required to join the traffic on Keith Road and if there is any problem, they will be late or unable to get to me, in addition, I travel between schools, homes, and my office and I may not be able to get back to appointments at my office! This plan will certainly cause me to lose business. Shall I send my invoices for lost income to the city?
I am also very concerned, for myself and for my clients that travelling up and down Kennard when the roads are icy or snowy is very unsafe. I do not recommend it to anyone!
The added speed bumps have done a good job to slow the traffic that goes through our neighborhood, when there is a back-up and that is our main concern. If there is additional traffic, when there is a bridge issue, it should move through safely.
I feel very bad for the people in the "pink" zone of one ways, who happen to live on 6th and 7th. This seems completely unfair for them to be stuck with all of the traffic. Blocking my street to relieve theirs seems like punishing more of the neighborhood, not fixing a problem.
I voted against this plan the first time I was asked and cannot imagine why anyone living on Cloverley, Shavington or Heywood would be in favor. It is a TERRIBLE PLAN that creates many more problems than it solves. We chose to live near a bridge, so sometimes there is extra traffic. This is not a Surprise!
