Making Eastview Park more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Eastview Park is located on the eastern boundary of the City between Rufus Drive and Mountain Highway. This 2.8 hectare neighbourhood park is accessed for its wooded walking trails, open spaces and disc golf course. In March 2024, City Council directed staff to explore ways to make disc golf the primary focus of Eastview Park, while mitigating the impacts on other park users. The park improvement plan is based on four core principles informed by Phase 1 engagement, site analysis and Council direction. The principles are:

  • Ensuring safety for all visitors
  • Improving trails and circulation
  • Supporting a healthy forest ecology
  • Creating a thoughtful disc golf experience suitable for a neighborhood park

Phase 2 engagement has now concluded

In June and July of 2025, the City conducted Phase 2 engagement activities to share proposed concepts for Eastview Park and gather the community's feedback. Engagement included two public open houses and an online survey. The detailed results from the engagement are shared in a What We Heard Report that you can download here or click on the image below.

What's next?

Staff are currently refining a final concept design. The design will be based on "The Loop" concept, which was identified as the concept that best met design principles through engagement. The final design will feature additional adjustments that integrate feedback gathered from the public, such as the need to better separate different park uses. The final concept will be shared with City Council and the public when complete.
