Fostering a resilient urban and natural environment

We are facing an unprecedented climate and environmental crisis. To navigate these challenges, in 2021 the City of North Vancouver began developing a draft Climate and Environment Strategy to be our guide for making decisions today and over the coming decade.

City staff conducted two phases of engagement to develop the Strategy. In the first phase in November 2021, we asked for the community's feedback on the draft vision, goals and strategies that formed the framework for the plan. During this first phase of engagement, we received significant input through listening sessions with equity-deserving groups, stakeholder workshops and through online survey responses. Learn more in the Phase 1 What We Heard report.

In a second phase in October-November 2023, community members reviewed and provided feedback on the draft Climate and Environment Strategy. (Review a summary of the draft Strategy in English, Farsi, Chinese Simplified or Tagalog.) Download the Phase 2 What We Heard report to find more results.

In summer 2024, the final Climate and Environment Strategy was endorsed by City Council.
